Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds flank or skirt steak

  • 1/2 cup orange juice

  • 1/4 cup lime juice

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 1 large onion, sliced into rings

  • 2 jalapeños, sliced (optional)

Instructions:

  • Prepare the Marinade: In a large bowl, whisk together the orange juice, lime juice, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, ground cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes.
  • Marinate the Steak: Place the steak in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, making sure it’s well-coated. Add the sliced onion and jalapeños (if using) to the bag or dish. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.
  • Grill the Steak: Preheat your grill to high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade, letting any excess drip off. Grill the steak for about 3-5 minutes per side for medium-rare or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve: Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips. Serve with warm tortillas, fresh salsa, guacamole, and lime wedges. Enjoy as tacos, burritos, or with rice and beans.
