Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed

  • 1/2 cup Nutella (chocolate-hazelnut spread)

  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

  • Powdered sugar (optional for dusting)

  • Fresh berries or sliced bananas (optional for serving)

Instructions:

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Prepare the Puff Pastry: Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Roll it out gently to smooth any creases.
  • Cut and Fill: Cut the puff pastry into 8 equal squares. Place a tablespoon of Nutella in the center of each square. If desired, add a few fresh berries or slices of banana on top of the Nutella.
  • Fold and Seal: Fold each square in half to form a triangle. Use a fork to press and seal the edges together.
  • Egg Wash: Brush the tops of the pastries with the beaten egg to give them a golden, shiny finish.
  • Bake: Place the pastries on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffy.
  • Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly on a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

Notes

  • Ensure the puff pastry is well-sealed to prevent the Nutella from leaking out during baking.
  • For a unique twist, experiment with different fillings like peanut butter, fruit preserves, or cream cheese.
