Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2/3 cup water

  • 1/3 cup olive oil

  • Additional salt for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions:

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: Combine whole wheat flour and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the water and olive oil to the flour mixture, stirring until a dough forms. If the dough is too dry, add more water, one tablespoon at a time.
  • Knead the Dough: Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Roll Out the Dough: Divide the dough into two portions. Roll out each portion as thinly as possible on parchment paper. The thinner the dough, the crispier the crackers will be.
  • Cut the Dough: Cut the dough into small squares, approximately 1.5 inches on each side, using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter. Transfer the parchment paper with the cut dough onto baking sheets.
  • Bake the Crackers: Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes or until the crackers are golden brown and crisp. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
  • Cool and Serve: Allow the crackers to cool completely on a wire rack. Once cooled, they can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.

Notes

  • Enjoy your homemade Triscuits as a standalone snack, or pair them with your favourite toppings for a delicious and healthy treat!
