Ingredients:

  • 8 mozzarella cheese sticks

  • 1 cup almond flour

  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • Olive oil spray

Instructions:

  • Prepare the Cheese Sticks: Cut each mozzarella stick in half to make 16 pieces. Place them in the freezer for about 30 minutes until they are firm.
  • Set Up the Breading Station: In a shallow bowl, mix the almond flour, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, beat the eggs.
  • Bread the Cheese Sticks: Dip each frozen cheese stick into the beaten eggs, then roll it in the almond flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat the process for a thicker coating.
  • Freeze Again: Place the breaded cheese sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for another 30 minutes. This helps the breading stick during frying.
  • Fry the Cheese Sticks: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Spray the cheese sticks with olive oil spray and place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Fry for 6-8 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Alternatively, you can bake them in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 10 minutes.
  • Serve Hot: Remove the mozzarella sticks from the air fryer or oven and let them cool slightly before serving with your favorite low-carb dipping sauce.

How do I store leftovers?

Any leftover mozzarella sticks can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To regain their crispiness, reheat them in the air fryer or oven.

Can I make these ahead of time?

Yes, you can bake the mozzarella sticks and freeze them until you’re ready to cook. Just add a couple of extra minutes to the cooking time if frying them from frozen.
